Michael Kofman

Michael Kofman is a United States-based military analyst whose work centres on the Russian military — its doctrine, capabilities, and evolving structure. He is a regular contributor to policy discussions on how Russia’s armed forces have adapted under the pressures of sustained conventional conflict.

Kofman’s analysis of Russian military adaptation covers the integration of drone warfare, electronic systems, and autonomous technologies into combined-arms operations — areas directly relevant to how state actors are incorporating emerging military technology in contemporary conflict.
