Madyar

Madyar is the combat call sign of a Ukrainian military officer who leads a frontline drone reconnaissance and strike unit known as Madyar’s Birds. The unit became one of the more publicly documented examples of Ukrainian tactical drone operations during the war with Russia, running missions under field conditions and sharing footage through channels such as VictoryDrones on Telegram.

Madyar’s unit is an early case study in how small, agile drone teams are reshaping infantry tactics — integrating commercial UAS into strike and ISR roles at the platoon level without waiting for formal procurement cycles.
