Keir Giles

Keir Giles is a British writer and researcher who has spent his career studying the Russian military and its relationship with the West. He has contributed to NATO’s own published research, including the NATO Defense College’s Handbook of Russian Information Warfare. His public commentary covers Russian military doctrine, disinformation operations, and the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Giles brings sustained analytical focus to how Russia wages modern conflict — from information operations to battlefield decision-making — making his assessments directly relevant to understanding the doctrinal and strategic environment in which autonomous weapons and AI-enabled warfare are being deployed.
