Kometa (“Comet”) is the family name of the anti-jam satellite navigation units made by VNIIR-Progress in Cheboksary. Each pairs a satellite receiver with a controlled reception pattern antenna (CRPA): an array of antenna elements whose signals are combined so that the unit can turn its blind spots towards a jammer and keep the satellites. HUR War & Sanctions has recorded Kometa units in Geran-2 and Geran-3 drones.

Militarnyi reports Kometa modules across Russian drones, glide bombs and the Iskander-M missile, and strikes on the VNIIR-Progress plant in November 2025 and June 2026. The twelve-element model is the Kometa-M12.
