Yemeni 'Saqr' loitering air-defence missiles shoot down Saudi Karayel-SU MALE UAV

Published 28 September 2026

Anti-Houthi Presidential Council forces published footage of Saqr-1 and Saqr-2 loitering air-defence missiles — locally fielded versions of Iran’s 358/359 family — conducting autonomous patrol sorties launched from Hodeidah. Each missile can loiter for up to 25 minutes before autonomously acquiring and engaging a target within its patrol zone. The footage includes a claimed kill of a Turkish-made Karayel-SU reconnaissance-strike UAV operated by Saudi Arabia. The 358 family has a documented record of kills against MALE and smaller drones in Lebanon, Syria, Iran and Yemen.
