Yak-130M jet trainer upgraded with guided weapons and targeting system to engage heavy UAVs

During a visit to the Irkutsk aviation plant, Putin reviewed the upgraded Yak-130M, described by Russian state sources as now carrying a new targeting system, an onboard self-defence suite, and an expanded guided-weapons load. The stated capability includes all-weather, day-and-night engagement of ground targets and heavy UAVs, positioning the aircraft as a supplementary counter-UAV platform alongside its trainer role.
