US XM30 IFV first delivery: both contenders feature unmanned turret and integrated counter-drone EW

Published

The US Army took delivery of its first XM30 infantry fighting vehicle from General Dynamics Land Systems. Both competing variants — GDLS’s XM30 Wolf and American Rheinmetall’s XM30 Lynx — share an unmanned 50 mm cannon turret, a crew reduced to two, high digitalisation and an explicit focus on kamikaze drone survivability, including an integrated anti-drone electronic-warfare antenna. Russian military-technical commentary is sceptical, likening the EW-centric protection approach to the pre-war belief that activating a jammer would neutralise all drone threats.
