US Corsair USVs breach Bandar Abbas naval base perimeter, strike Ghadir submarine on lift

Published

American Corsair-class unmanned surface vessels penetrated the perimeter of Iran’s Bandar Abbas naval base without encountering boom barriers and struck a servicing point for Ghadir-class mini-submarines, one of which was on a lift at the time of impact. Previous strikes had already destroyed the base’s main submarine hangars, indicating a sequential campaign to suppress the Ghadir infrastructure. The 150-tonne Ghadir boats are optimised for shallow Persian Gulf and Hormuz Strait operations and represent a direct threat to Gulf shipping.
