US Army stands up FASCOM autonomous-systems command, mandates integration by FY2028

Published

The US Army is forming a Future Autonomous Systems Command (FASCOM) to centralise authority over unmanned and autonomous platforms. G-3/5/7 has been directed to redesign unit structures across armour, aviation, artillery, logistics and engineering for autonomous integration, and a new procurement executive for autonomy (PAE for Autonomy) is being created inside ASA-ALT. FY2028 is the stated deadline for full integration across fires, reconnaissance, logistics and obstacle-breaching missions. Dedicated MOS codes for tactical UAV operators (15X) and robotic-systems maintenance technicians (390A) are to be scaled to all relevant formations.
