Russian analysis confirms relay drones deliver 20 Mbps, operators work from deep rear

Published · updated

A Russian UAV channel analysing captured Ukrainian drones equipped with Ubiquiti gear confirms the relay architecture delivers around 20 Mbps real throughput — well below the 150 Mbps nominal figure but sufficient to carry control links and video for one or more FPV or reconnaissance drones. The analysis notes Ukrainian operators are able to position themselves far from the front line, citing Kyiv as an example, and that radio-bridge relays replaced earlier Starlink-direct setups as a cost-reduction measure as the scheme matured.
