Ukrainian drones probe Plesetsk cosmodrome for second consecutive day as space-industry campaign widens

Published

Russian sources reported MICH- and An-196-type Ukrainian UAVs detected over the Arkhangelsk Oblast district hosting the Plesetsk cosmodrome on 23 August, the second successive day of drone alerts there. Russia’s Roscosmos chief had flagged attempted Ukrainian strikes against Plesetsk as early as April 2026; combined with recent hits on a Samara rocket-manufacturer, the pattern suggests a sustained campaign against Russian space and launch-vehicle infrastructure.
