Ukrainian 'Baba Yaga' re-seeds IEDs on cleared routes, forcing daily re-clearance

Published

A Russian assault account from Zaporizhzhia describes a Ukrainian counter-engineering tactic in which Baba Yaga heavy hexacopters drop improvised explosive devices back onto treelines and paths immediately after Russian combat engineers have swept and cleared them. Assault units with the 270th Regiment reportedly must treat any previously cleared lane as potentially re-contaminated on subsequent days, substantially increasing mission time and engineer exposure. Russian UAV operators are now assigned to accompany assault groups specifically to detect and counter in-flight re-seeding drops.
