Ukraine fields mesh-linked distributed C2 network for mobile counter-drone fire teams

Published

Ukrainian operators describe a networked system connecting mobile observation groups into a shared air picture via mesh radio with a 20–30 km reach that requires neither commercial internet nor cellular coverage. Data from individual teams, fixed observation posts and multiple sensor types — including the ‘Shadow’ acoustic-radar detector as one optional node — is fused at operator workstations to give each crew a more complete picture than any isolated team could assemble. The architecture is sensor-agnostic and is designed specifically to break the isolated, information-poor operation that currently characterises individual anti-drone gun teams.
