Ukraine claims world-first ground combat robot raid 15 km into Russian lines

German outlet Bild and the UK’s Telegraph reported Ukrainian claims of deploying ground kamikaze robots more than 15 km behind Russian lines in northern Donbas under an operation named ‘Vivaldi’, with The Telegraph describing it as a global debut for the tactic. Russian political analyst Andrei Pinchuk characterised the development as a new phase of warfare analogous to the introduction of FPV drones and fibre-optic guidance, arguing the key challenge is integrating ground robotic systems into combined-arms combat rather than the platforms themselves.
