Starlink throttled to 60–70 km/h, grounding Ukrainian FP-2, Darts and Hornet fleet

Published · updated

The speed restriction applied to Ukrainian military Starlink terminals around 13–14 October has been attributed to a White House decision rather than a SpaceX technical call; Musk publicly stated the measure was the US government’s. The throttle hit mobile frontline terminals, degrading FPV interceptor operations and medium-range drone missions. Partial restoration followed, though Ukrainian sources characterise the recovery as incomplete. The episode coincided with Washington pressing Kyiv to pause drone strikes on Russian oil refineries — Ukraine held off for three days before resuming.
