Russian 'Yolka' interceptor drone films kinetic kill of Ukrainian fixed-wing strike UAV

Published 1 September 2026

A Ukrainian-side channel reporting on adversary activity released footage showing a Russian ‘Yolka’ air-defence drone — operated by a mobile fire group in a Russian border region — achieving a kinetic intercept of a Ukrainian fixed-wing strike UAV. The clip shows the Yolka closing on and destroying the target in flight. A separate Russian drone analyst noted in the same period that the Yolka outperforms a Chinese-sourced UAV that Russian channels had identified in Ukrainian service.
