Russian sniper-plus-FPV interceptor cells suppress enemy drones over localised sectors

Published

Russian military analyst Russky Inzhener describes a concept being validated by Lobayev Group snipers in the Kursk border zone: small dedicated cells pairing precision riflemen with FPV interceptor drones to deny enemy ISR and attack UAVs over a defined sector, restoring freedom of manoeuvre for surrounding infantry. The analyst argues this specialised division of labour — dedicated drone-hunting teams versus general infantry — is more effective than distributing anti-drone duties broadly, and advocates formalising such cells as a distinct role in Russian unit structures.
