Russian brigade engineers test prototype that transitions from aerial drone to kamikaze USV on water

Published

Russia’s 11th Engineering Brigade has tested a DIY amphibious drone on a closed range that can land on a river surface, raise its rear arm via servo, and then operate as either a kamikaze surface vehicle or reconnaissance boat. The design exploits the air-to-water transition to extend strike reach into riverine environments without a dedicated naval platform. The same brigade runs an in-house 3D-printing shop producing drone components and uses computer-based flight simulators for operator training.
