Russia's Rassvet-3 Starlink-analog loses second satellite; 26 of 30 nearing operational orbit

Published

Bureau 1440’s Rassvet-3 satellite No.17 de-orbited and burned up on 30 October — its engines never fired for orbital correction after its July launch and it decayed over three months. A second satellite, No.23, was salvaged by raising its altitude from roughly 220 km to around 300 km. Twenty-six of the 30 remaining spacecraft in the batch have reached approximately 500 km altitude on their way to the planned 800 km operational orbit; the company is already conducting communications tests with ground terminals.
