Russia's Pantsir-S1M anti-drone tower rings around Moscow now expanding to other regions

Published 29 October 2026

A Russian state-aligned report details 35-metre fixed towers mounting the Pantsir-S1M gun-missile system that have been constructed in several concentric defensive rings around Moscow since 2023, forming the backbone of the capital’s counter-drone layer. The same tower design is now reportedly being erected in additional Russian regions, extending a fixed-infrastructure anti-drone network beyond the Moscow defensive perimeter.
