Russia's 'Dan'' cruise missile named publicly as stealthier, harder-to-intercept successor to Banderoль

Published

A Russian military engineering analyst identifies a newly named Russian weapon — the cruise missile ‘Dan’’ (Дань, meaning ’tribute’) — as a conceptual successor to the ‘Banderoль’ reactive UAV, describing it as more sophisticated, stealthier and substantially harder to shoot down than Geran variants. The analyst argues that increasing the proportion of ‘Dan’’ strikes in strike packages is directly responsible for the higher confirmed-hit rate against Ukrainian logistics infrastructure seen recently, and calls for a further shift in the strike mix toward the type.
