Russia's 2S38 Derivatsiya-PVO 57 mm anti-drone SPAAG sighted at Tsentr-2026 exercises

Ukraine’s Istoria Zbroi reports the Russian 2S38 Derivatsiya-PVO self-propelled anti-aircraft gun was observed during the Tsentr-2026 military exercises in early October 2026. Built on a BMP-3 chassis with a 57 mm 2A90 automatic cannon rated at 120 rounds per minute, the system is designed partly to engage drone targets at ranges up to 6 km and altitudes to 4.5 km. No confirmed serial production or combat deployment against Ukraine has been documented.
