Russia fields 32-element CRPA antennas on strike drones, doubling Ukraine's 16-element arrays

Published

A Ukrainian engineering channel reports that Russia has deployed 32-element Controlled Reception Pattern Antennas (CRPA) on fixed-wing attack drones, compared to the 16-element CRPAs observed on Ukrainian Fire Point strike drones. More antenna elements expand the number of spatial degrees of freedom for adaptive null-steering, allowing the system to suppress a greater number of simultaneous GPS-jamming sources. Analysts note raw element count is not the sole performance determinant — signal-processing algorithms and receiver chain quality matter equally — but the gap points to an accelerating hardware race in GNSS-contested environments.
