Russia converts 17 S-400 launchers to fire RM-48U ballistic missiles at ground targets

Published

Ukraine’s military intelligence directorate (GUR) claims Russia has adapted up to 17 S-400 surface-to-air missile launcher units to fire RM-48U ballistic missiles against ground targets, with the tempo of such strikes said to have increased markedly. The RM-48U is characterised as a low-cost supplement to Russia’s dedicated strike missile inventory, allowing S-400 units to contribute to offensive ground-attack operations.
