Rostec SOKOL-08: sub-28 kg radar tracks 100 UAVs simultaneously with ML clutter rejection

Published

Rostec has announced the SOKOL-08, a mobile X-band 2D phased-array radar weighing under 28 kg, claimed to detect up to 100 small airborne targets simultaneously — including objects as small as a bird. Machine-learning algorithms are integrated to classify contacts and suppress false alarms, reducing manual operator load. The unit accepts 220 V mains or 24 V vehicle power and is rated for −40 to +60 °C. A secondary mode co-tracks both an inbound drone and a pursuing interceptor UAV. A digital HUB bus integrates SOKOL-08 with electronic warfare assets and effectors into an automated detect–classify–handoff–intercept chain.
