Pentagon's Humanoid Augmented Warfare concept targets 2028–2029 serial procurement

Published

The Pentagon has established a joint inter-service consortium at Fort Moore—spanning the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps—to adapt commercial humanoid robot platforms for combined-arms combat under the Humanoid Augmented Warfare (HAW) concept. The programme is reported to integrate humanoid units with AI systems, the IVAS soldier-worn display, strike drones and electronic warfare payloads, with serial procurement planned for 2028–2029. A pro-Russian channel highlighting the programme notes that China currently concentrates 45 of the roughly 60 global humanoid robot manufacturers, framing the US initiative as a direct response to Chinese dominance in this manufacturing base.
