North Korea displays Harop-clone loitering munition and new heavy flying-wing UAV at Pyongyang show

Published

At the ‘Development of Unmanned Aerospace Technologies-2026’ exhibition in Pyongyang on 29 October, attended by Kim Jong-un, North Korea displayed a loitering munition closely modelled on Israel’s Harop: double-swept wing, canard configuration, Wankel rotary engine with pusher propeller, rocket-booster launch from open metal rails and an EO turret in the nose. Reported specifications — 135 kg gross weight, 23 kg HE-fragmentation warhead, 1,000 km range and six hours endurance — closely parallel the Harop’s public figures. The exhibition also premiered a heavy flying-wing UAV not previously seen, and multiple exhibits confirm North Korea’s military industry has entered FPV drone production.
