Kalashnikov programmable air-burst grenade round adds aerial-detonation drone-kill mode

Published · updated

Russian military media reports that Kalashnikov Concern has developed a grenade launcher round with a programmable electronic fuse in a transport-launch container. The round introduces selectable detonation modes — including aerial burst — enabling engagement of troops in defilade and low-flying aerial targets such as drones; the propellant-ignition circuit is electrically isolated from the fuse electronics to improve reliability.
