Helsing Contra: AI-directed air defence with AD-1 Inferno and AD-2 Ambush interceptors

Published

German company Helsing has unveiled Contra, an AI-driven air defence system using the Altra platform to fuse sensor data and coordinate interception. Two organic interceptors ship with it: AD-1 Inferno, jet-powered, claiming over 700 km/h and a 20+ km engagement range; and AD-2 Ambush, solid-rocket-powered at over Mach 2 with the same declared range and a combined radar-guidance plus terminal seeker. The architecture is described as open and capable of integrating third-party interceptors. The system is still in testing and no combat performance data has been published.
