Germany stands up first dedicated drone regiment inside 10th Armored Division by 2027

The German Army plans to establish its first standalone unmanned systems regiment within the 10th Armoured Division in 2027, designed to cover the full spectrum from direct unit support out to roughly 500 km, with an embedded EW company and organic counter-drone capability. Initial strength is approximately 300 personnel, scaling to 600; the regiment will double as a testbed for new systems and tactics, with proven concepts fast-tracked to other Bundeswehr divisions. Replication across further divisions is planned if the model succeeds.
