Geran-4 Seeker extends targeting to Ukrainian air-defence radars and EW nodes

Published · updated

A Ukrainian channel documented a Geran-4 Seeker strike that destroyed a P-19 early-warning radar (or its camouflage mock-up) and an adjacent dome-shaped EW system in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast; a separate attack reportedly hit a 79K6 Pelican air-surveillance radar near Odessa. The channel noted that Ukrainian crews have been bracing radar antennae with logs — a field expedient reportedly used previously — suggesting the seeker variant is now treated as a routine radar-hunting threat rather than a counter-logistics tool only. In a separate incident, Russian rail traffic near the Poland–Ukraine border was halted after a Geran warning, stopping a train carrying former UK prime minister Boris Johnson and European security advisers.
