France completes fourth Akeron LP helicopter missile test, confirming pre-launch target lock

France’s DGA carried out a fourth test-fire of the Akeron LP guided missile from a Tiger attack helicopter at the Cazaux range, per a Ukrainian defence channel. The test demonstrated full target-image acquisition before launch, advancing Tiger MkIII integration under the OCCAR-managed MAST-F programme developed by MBDA, Safran and Thales. The 35 kg missile is rated to 12 km range with a tandem warhead exceeding 1,000 mm of armour penetration and a bidirectional RF link for mid-course updates. Production deliveries to French and Spanish forces are targeted for 2028.
