First confirmed shootdown of jet-powered Geran-4 by APKWS rocket from Vampire system

Published

Ukrainian forces achieved the first documented intercept of a jet-powered Geran-4 using an APKWS laser-guided rocket fired from a Vampire air-defence launcher. Previously the APKWS-equipped Vampire combination had been used exclusively against the slower piston-engine Geran-2 variants; this engagement establishes the pairing as effective against the higher-speed reactive version.
