Covenant 'Anthem' cruise missile factory opens in Saxony; 5,000 rounds/year by 2028

Published

US–Israeli defence company Covenant is constructing a 10,200 m² factory in the Leipzig district of Saxony to manufacture the Anthem long-range cruise missile, with production starting Q1 2027 at roughly 1,000 rounds per year and scaling to 5,000 per year by 2028. Anthem is stated to carry over 200 kg of payload beyond 1,600 km from ground or naval launchers, with 95% of components commercially available European parts. Parallel production lines are reported in the United States (5,000/year) and Israel (2,000/year), positioning Anthem as a high-volume, commercially sourced alternative to bespoke standoff weapons.
