China's GJ-21 stealth flying-wing drone completes carrier trials from Type 076 assault ship

China confirmed the GJ-21 flying-wing drone successfully completed launch and recovery trials from the amphibious assault ship Type 076 Sichuan, using its electromagnetic catapult and arresting gear. The Type 076 is the first Chinese warship capable of fixed-wing aircraft operations without a ski-jump, and the GJ-21 is intended for maritime ISR and strike roles from surface combatants rather than traditional aircraft carriers. Official performance parameters have not been released.
