Chaklun-B strike UAV's Kyocera CRP antenna taught Russia a counter to GPS jamming resistance

Published

A Ukrainian technical analysis identified a 4-element circular patch antenna with dual feeds from a Kyocera AVX-1002649 component inside a Chaklun-B middle-strike UAV. The configuration provides protected satellite navigation resistant to conventional jamming. The analysis warns that by deploying this solution at scale, Ukraine inadvertently demonstrated a working method for overcoming GPS suppression — without anticipating that Russia would develop a mirror countermeasure, leaving Ukrainian jamming defences behind the curve.
