Both sides converging on private-sector AD: MOGs fill gaps, network coordination the unsolved problem

Published

OSINT researcher AS-22, cited by a Ukrainian drone channel, observes structural convergence in Russian and Ukrainian air-defence practice: both now partner with private firms, combine zone and point defence, and rely on mobile firing groups to cover sectors and UAV ingress routes. Network coordination — managing target type, altitude, position, approach vector, and threat priority in real time — is identified as the key unsolved challenge. The assessment notes that continuing development of long-range strike UAVs will keep driving tactical evolution faster than doctrine can formalise it.
