BAE Systems TRV-150 octocopter fires APKWS rockets to intercept multiple drones in sequence

BAE Systems demonstrated the TRV-150 — a militarised Malloy T-150 cargo octocopter — armed with three APKWS laser-guided rockets during trials overseen by the US Deputy Secretary of Defence’s office for research and engineering. The platform engaged and destroyed several kamikaze drones in succession without landing to reload. The three-round magazine and the type’s stated ~36-minute base endurance limit persistent coverage, but the use of mature low-cost APKWS munitions could provide a cost-effective layered air defence option.
