Almaz-Antey Garpiya-A1 export kamikaze drone debuts at Vietnam and China air shows

Russian state concern Almaz-Antey will present the export-designated Garpiya-A1(E) long-range loitering munition at Vietnam Defence Show and Airshow China for the first time, according to Russian milblogger Barantchik. The Garpiya shares the Geran-2’s general airframe layout and comparable tactical profile but reportedly has shorter range and slightly lower speed; production units have been deployed alongside Alabuga-manufactured drones since 2024. Almaz-Antey’s promo material also shows a smaller-body Garpiya variant assessed as optimised for strikes against near- and medium-depth rear targets rather than deep infrastructure.
