AeroVironment and Thunder Tiger to explore Switchblade launch from USVs and UGVs

US loitering-munition maker AeroVironment and Taiwan’s drone and unmanned-vehicle manufacturer Thunder Tiger signed a memorandum of understanding on 15 October to study integrating Switchblade munitions onto Thunder Tiger’s unmanned surface vessels and ground platforms. A specific technical work item calls for evaluating a Switchblade launch pod mounted on a Thunder Tiger unmanned boat. The MoU also opens a path for co-production in Taiwan and joint UAV development, as both companies assess the island’s industrial base for future combined manufacturing.
