Acoustic-radar cueing with localised mobile internet blackout proposed as cellular-drone countermeasure

Published

Russian technical channels circulate a counter-drone doctrine proposal: use acoustic and radar sensors to fix the transit point of a 4G/LTE-connected drone, then cut all mobile internet in that narrow corridor. Because the drone passes quickly, the blackout window at any given location is estimated at around ten minutes — judged operationally tolerable for civilians. The approach targets only cellular-linked platforms and would have no effect on autonomous, pre-programmed or radio-frequency-controlled drones.
