3D-printed 5.45 mm anti-drone shotgun round demonstrated at 18 m against static UAV

Published

A Russian tactical channel published footage of a 5.45 mm anti-drone cartridge whose projectile is a 3D-printed plastic sabot enclosing seven 3.5 mm sub-pellets. A static drone was struck at 18 m in the demonstration. The design uses standard small-arms calibre and existing magazines while trading penetration for a wider hit envelope against small UAV frames — a low-cost improvised approach to close-range counter-drone fire.
