Ukraine deploys EW 'dome' to block Russian drone control links

Bottom line

Ukrainian sources claim Kyiv has established an electronic warfare 'dome' that blocks Russian remote-control links for drones, forcing a pause in such attacks and driving Moscow to seek new control methods.

Why it matters

If effective, this EW capability degrades the reliability of Russian FPV and loitering munition attacks on high-value urban targets, potentially forcing Moscow to invest in more expensive autonomous or satellite-guided alternatives.

Ukrainian media and officials report the deployment of a comprehensive EW ‘dome’ over Kyiv designed to intercept and block remote-control signals for Russian drones. Flash claims the system has forced Russia to pause drone operations in the capital and seek alternative control methods, while Serhiy Beskrestnov of the GUR confirms the multi-agency effort is specifically targeting guided ‘Shahed’ drones. This represents a significant shift in defensive posture, moving from passive interception to active signal denial.
