Russian forces synchronize FPV drones with artillery in Sviatohirsk-Kramatorsk

Bottom line

Russian milbloggers report a synchronized tactic in the Sviatohirsk-Kramatorsk sector where FPV drones are used to finish off targets exposed by artillery strikes, effectively destroying Ukrainian strongpoints.

Why it matters

The integration of FPV drones with traditional artillery fire represents a significant tactical evolution, allowing Russian forces to maximize the effectiveness of both systems and overcome entrenched Ukrainian defenses in urban and semi-urban environments.

Ukr_G_M reports that Russian forces are employing a coordinated tactic in the Sviatohirsk-Kramatorsk agglomeration, combining artillery and FPV drones. The process involves reconnaissance drones identifying targets, artillery striking to expose or suppress them, and FPV drones finishing off the targets. This synchronized approach has reportedly shifted the front line, with Russian Southern Group forces pushing back Ukrainian positions and destroying fortified strongpoints and vehicles, including a US-made Humvee.
