Ukrainian drone strikes hit Zaporizhzhia and Vinnytsia malls

Bottom line

Multiple sources confirm Geran-4 drone strikes on shopping centers in Zaporizhzhia and Vinnytsia, with Russian claims of dual-use storage and Ukrainian attribution.

Why it matters

The targeting of civilian infrastructure with Geran-4 drones highlights the continued precision and range of Russian loitering munitions, while the dual-use claims underscore the blurring of civilian and military targets in the conflict.

Russian milbloggers and Ukrainian sources confirm Geran-4 drone strikes on major shopping centers, specifically City Mall in Zaporizhzhia and Epitsentr in Vinnytsia. Russian claims suggest these locations stored dual-use goods for the Ukrainian army, while Ukrainian sources attribute the strikes to Russian forces. The strikes caused structural damage and civilian casualties in Zaporizhzhia.
