Ukrainian SBU destroys Russian S-400 and Pantsir-SMDE

Bottom line

Ukrainian security services report the destruction of a Russian S-400 Triumf launcher in the Bryansk region and the first confirmed strike on a Pantsir-SMDE short-range air defense system mounted on an anti-drone tower.

Why it matters

The destruction of S-400 and specialized Pantsir-SMDE systems in rear areas demonstrates the vulnerability of Russian air defense networks to Ukrainian long-range drone strikes, potentially degrading their ability to protect critical infrastructure and forward units.

Ukrainian sources (SBU, ButusovPlus) report the successful strike and destruction of an S-400 Triumf air defense launcher in the Bryansk region, which had been used to fire on Kyiv. Additionally, Ukrainian forces claim to have destroyed a Pantsir-SMDE system mounted on a special anti-drone tower, a configuration typically located in rear areas to protect high-value assets. These strikes highlight the effectiveness of Ukrainian long-range drone operations against deep Russian air defense infrastructure.
