Bottom line

Russian MoD claims a strike on a Marshall Islands-flagged commercial vessel carrying rapeseed oil in the Black Sea, though details of the weapon used are not provided.

Why it matters

Russian MoD claims a strike on a Marshall Islands-flagged commercial vessel carrying rapeseed oil in the Black Sea, though details of the weapon used are not provided. This claim coincides with Bulgarian media reports of the Togolese-flagged ALFA WATAN sinking and the Palau-flagged ABLE catching fire in the SW Black Sea, with theories suggesting UAV attacks. Russian sources also claim Geran drones struck oil storage and a commercial ship in Chornomorsk port, highlighting the ongoing threat to maritime logistics.
