Russian FPV drones penetrate shelters and strike armored vehicles in Sloviansk

Bottom line

Russian FPV drone operators claim strict air control over the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk area, with video evidence showing strikes on Ukrainian combatant shelters and armored vehicles.

Why it matters

The effectiveness of FPVs against static shelters and armored vehicles in urban environments challenges current NATO infantry and armor protection doctrines, highlighting the need for improved counter-drone measures and mobile cover.

Russian milbloggers and video sources report that FPV drone operators have established air superiority over the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration. Footage shows Russian FPVs striking Ukrainian combatant shelters, effectively neutralizing infantry cover, and precision strikes on armored vehicles in urban-adjacent zones. Ukrainian sources confirm the cumulative impact of these strikes on logistics and equipment, noting that FPVs are bypassing traditional defensive positions.
