Russian drone-interceptor crew claims 10+ fixed-wing kills in 24h

Bottom line

Russian Rubicon Centre claims FPV counter-drone operators intercepted >1,500 Ukrainian long-range drones, with >50% in September 2026.

Why it matters

NATO and allied units should anticipate increased use of FPV-based counter-drone systems by Russian forces, requiring enhanced electronic warfare and hard-kill countermeasures for long-range UAVs.

Russian Rubicon Centre claims that FPV-AD operators have intercepted over 1,500 Ukrainian long-range drones, with more than 50% of these kills occurring in September 2026. This scaling of FPV counter-drone tactics is described as effective against fixed-wing UAVs, indicating a significant shift in Russian counter-UAS capabilities and operational tempo.
