Russian MoD introduces 'Mangas' bunker-strike UAV

Bottom line

Russian MoD claims the 11th Army Corps has deployed a new 'Mangas' UAV for bunker strikes and logistics, featuring thermal imaging and precision drops. Operator 'Bulbash' highlights its capabilities as part of a broader 'Unmanned Forces' recruitment push.

Why it matters

The introduction of a dedicated bunker-strike UAV indicates Russian efforts to standardize and scale specialized drone roles beyond generic FPV kamikaze tactics, potentially improving precision and survivability in fortified urban environments.

Russian MoD reports that the 11th Army Corps (North) has begun using a new UAV designated ‘Mangas’ for bunker strikes and frontline logistics. Operator ‘Bulbash’ notes the system is equipped with thermal imaging and capable of precision payload drops. This deployment is framed within a wider Russian recruitment campaign for ‘Unmanned Forces’ personnel, suggesting an institutional push to formalize and expand drone operator roles across the military.
